Good data security is important to every organisation. This is why Viadesk has been protected in various ways. Not only is it possible to manage access to Viadesk, the various elements within the platform can also be protected individually and separately.
SSL security
You can request a SSL connection. An SSL connection is the secured connection as used by, for example, banks to protect transactions. SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer - the system sends and checks security keys before communication can start. SSL was developed to prevent the interception of confidential information.
Secure Managed Hosting
When Viadesk bv hosts your platform, all your data are stored on our secured database server. Every day a back up is made of Viadesk.
Automatic logout
After a period of inactivity (the specific length depends on the server settings) you will log out automatically. This will prevent situations in which others may have access to your data when you are away from your desk.
Access security
All users have a user name and a password. Only with these data will they be able to access Viadesk.
Extra option: Smartcard identification system
To provide customers with maximum control over access to confidential information in a network environment such as the Internet, Viadesk also offers ´trusted service'. It includes an advanced identification system with which employees are given access via the Internet to their Viadesk either from home or from specific pre-selected locations. They must first identify themselves with a smartcard and a PIN code, or by fingerprint recognition.
